Curriculum Vitae

I’ve had a varied career starting with interest in and the confluence of music and the arts. This led me to the basement years of grunge before it was grunge. I wore many hats: artist, band manager, musician, record executive and student. I then relocated to San Francisco to focus on my art career with interest in sculptures and painting.

I took time out to raise a family. And then found my roots and returned. I am focused on creating a variety of themed work that sources material from my background and psyche.

I am currently developing my new "Spolia" series about existence and absorption of earlier meaningful objects of significance. "Spolia" is a term used to refer to objects taken as spoils of conquest and reused to support a new order. For me this also refers to not belonging or being on the outside. It also means not representing either the old or new world, but being in-between. This is a disconnection from the past and an inability to connect to the present. This disassociation can be from many of our personal experiences, in my case growing up and finding myself between the sighted and non-sighted world, or being involved with "outsider" music/art. My work intends to show a defiance and joy in existence between these opposing forces.

My studio is located in Sausalito, California at the Liberty Ship complex.
